Say hello
Message Hethera on WhatsApp. Your account is created from your WhatsApp number. No forms, no passwords and no app to download.

Set up in one form, then add a card
In a secure WhatsApp form, add your name and email, choose whether people can ask you to pay their bills, and create your PIN. Then add your debit card on Paystack's checkout page. The small verification charge is refunded.

Ask for what you need and confirm with your PIN. Your card is charged and you get a receipt in the chat.
Ejor
Ask someone you know to pay a bill.
Short on cash? Send EJOR, choose the bill and enter the WhatsApp number of one person you'd like to pay it. They see exactly what it's for and pay with their own card and PIN.
- Send EJOR. A form opens: pick the bill (airtime, data, cable or electricity) and the person.
- They get one message with your name, your number and the bill, and choose View details or Decline.
- If they accept, they confirm with their PIN. The bill is paid and you're told straight away.
- One bill, one person. An Ejor isn't split between several people: whoever accepts pays the whole bill.
- You can only ask people who already use Hethera, have made a purchase and have turned Ejor on.
- Unpaid requests expire after 48 hours. To cancel one, send CANCEL EJ-xxxxx with its code.
- Don't want requests? Send EJOR OFF, or tap Block on a request from someone.
- Cable includes the ₦110 service fee, and electricity the card processing fee, paid by the person who pays.

Dash
Send airtime or electricity as a gift.
Send DASH to gift airtime or electricity to someone who uses Hethera. You pay now. On the day you choose, they get a message and decide where it goes: their phone number and network, or their meter. If they don't want it, your card is refunded in full.
- Send DASH. In the form, enter their number, the gift, the amount, an occasion and a short note.
- Pick when it arrives: now, or a day up to 60 days ahead at 8 am, 12 noon or 6 pm. Pay with your PIN.
- They tap Receive gift and choose the number or meter. It's bought there and then, and you're told.
- Airtime from ₦500 to ₦2,000; electricity from ₦5,500 to ₦50,000 (some meters need more). Amounts go up in ₦500 steps.
- Airtime gifts have no fee. For electricity, the card processing fee comes out of what you pay and they get the rest. You see both before you pay.
- If they tap No thanks, or don't accept within 30 days, the full amount goes back to your card. Refunds always go to the card that paid.
- Changed your mind? Send CANCEL DS-xxxxx before the delivery day for a full refund.
- A gift is for one bill only. It has no cash value and can't be withdrawn, split or moved to another bill. To stop receiving gifts, send DASH OFF.
Scheduled payments
Bills that pay themselves, on your terms.
Set up a payment once, such as data for Mum on the 1st of every month or your GOtv renewal, and confirm it with your PIN. Hethera pays it on the day and tells you when it's done.
- Once, every week or every month, at the time you choose.
- You set the most a payment may cost. If a plan's price goes above it, that payment is skipped and you're told; nothing is charged.
- We remind you the day before, except for airtime and data under ₦2,000.
- A payment that fails is never retried. If you still want it, tap Pay now.
- If your card is declined twice in a row or you add a new card, the schedule pauses until you resume it with your PIN.
- Send SCHEDULE to see your payments and pause, skip or cancel any of them.

Security
Easy to use, with strict security behind it.
The chat is simple to use. Every payment still goes through the same checks, in the same order.
Your PIN never goes into the chat
You enter your PIN in an encrypted WhatsApp form, not as a message. It is stored hashed. The AI assistant never sees it, and repeated wrong attempts lock the account.
We never see your full card number
You enter your card details on Paystack's checkout page. Hethera keeps only a payment token, the card's first six and last four digits, its type, your bank's name, and a fingerprint Paystack provides so we can recognise the same card without seeing its number.
Automatic refunds when a purchase fails
If your card is charged but the provider does not deliver, Hethera refunds your card automatically. If the bank or provider doesn't give a clear answer, we keep checking every few minutes until we know, then deliver or refund. You do not need to file a complaint first.
Never charged twice
Each payment is recorded in a double-entry ledger, with an audit record for every status change. A request sent twice is only charged once, and a declined card is never charged again unless you ask for a new purchase yourself.
Watched for fraud
Automated checks look for unusual activity, such as many purchases in a few minutes, repeated card declines, or the same card on several accounts. Anything unusual is flagged for our team to review.
You confirm every payment
Nothing is bought until you enter your PIN. Hethera shows the full amount first. When someone pays a bill for you with Ejor, they confirm with their own PIN.
No marketing messages
Hethera replies to conversations you start and does not send marketing broadcasts. Messages you get without writing first are about your own scheduled payments (a reminder and the result), a Dash gift someone sent you, or an Ejor request from someone you know if you have turned Ejor on.

Send REPORT, or just ask. Hethera sends a private link to charts of what you spent: by bill, by provider, who you bought for and when you usually buy.

Is Hethera a bank?
No. Hethera is a bill-payment service. We do not hold deposits or keep a wallet balance for you. Each purchase is charged directly to the card you saved, processed by Paystack. Airtime, data, cable and electricity are fulfilled through our bill-payment partner, VTpass.
How do I pay?
With a debit or credit card only. You add your card once through Paystack's secure page, and each purchase is charged to it after you confirm with your PIN. Hethera doesn't take bank transfers, USSD, cash or wallet top-ups, and we never ask you to send money to an account number. If anyone asks you to pay Hethera by transfer, it isn't us.
How much does it cost?
Airtime and data cost exactly the amount you buy, with no fee. Airtime is up to ₦2,000 per top-up. Cable TV has a ₦110 service fee on top of the plan. For electricity, the amount you enter is what your card pays: the card processing fee (1.5% + ₦100, or just 1.5% under ₦2,500) comes out of it and the rest is your units, so ₦5,000 gets you ₦4,825 of electricity. Hethera shows every figure before you confirm with your PIN, and nothing is charged until you confirm. If a purchase fails, the whole amount is refunded, fee included.
What happens if my payment fails?
If your card was charged but the provider did not deliver, we refund your card automatically and tell you in the chat. How long the money takes to appear depends on your bank. If anything is unclear, contact support with the reference in your receipt.
I forgot my PIN, or my phone was stolen.
Email [email protected] from any device. We will lock your account and help you reset your PIN. Repeated wrong PIN attempts also lock the account automatically.
Can I see how much I have spent?
Yes. Ask Hethera, for example “how much did I spend on airtime in September?”, or send REPORT to choose a period. You get a private link to a page of charts at report.hetheraengineering.com. The link works once, expires after 24 hours if you don't open it, and we tell you in the chat when it has been opened. If that wasn't you, reply REPORT STOP.
Can someone else pay a bill for me?
Yes, with Ejor. Send EJOR, pick the bill and enter the WhatsApp number of the person you'd like to pay. They must already use Hethera, have made a purchase and have turned Ejor on. They see your name, your number and the bill, and pay with their own card and PIN. Unpaid requests expire after 48 hours. To stop receiving requests, send EJOR OFF.
Can several people share one Ejor?
No. Each Ejor goes to one person, who pays the whole bill. If they decline or the request expires, you can start a new Ejor with someone else.
How does a Dash gift work?
Send DASH and choose who it's for, airtime or electricity, the amount and when it should arrive. You pay straight away. On that day they get a message and choose the phone number and network, or the meter, and it's bought there and then. If they tap No thanks or don't accept within 30 days, your card is refunded in full. They must already use Hethera.
Can a scheduled payment charge me more than I expect?
No. When you set it up you choose the most each payment may cost, and confirm with your PIN. If a plan costs more than that on the day, the payment is skipped and we tell you. A payment that fails is never tried again on its own.
How do I delete my account?
Follow the steps on our data deletion page. We remove your saved card token and profile, and keep transaction records only for as long as the law requires.

What we do
Hethera lets people in Nigeria buy airtime, mobile data, cable TV subscriptions and electricity through WhatsApp. Payments are made with their own debit card, by someone they know through Ejor, or on a schedule they set.
